As the year winds up, here is a little summary of the quilt and sewing projects I completed this year.
Quilt Projects
I finished or started 8 quilts in 2025. I used a 10″ layer cake of a fun Ruby Star Florida 2 fabric. It is the perfect nap quilt. I was part of the Stitch Obsessed BOM club. I have picked out the fabric and made the first five blocks. Due to some health issues, I got behind…..but I plan to finish it up in 2026. I designed and made my first pattern – The Pyramids Quilt. I designed and made the Bliss Quilt for my brother and sister-in-law. It’s funny, I don’t feel tiny when I walk past these palm trees on a normal day….but geez me and the quilt look so small. I made and donated a Quilt of Valor (QOV) quilt. I finished piecing a ‘Spookie Shelfie’ Quilt designed by Melissa Mortenson of Polka Dot Chair. Since I missed Halloween I’m not in a rush to finish (and I am waiting for the batting I ordered to arrive). I designed and started the Auckland Rose Quilt. I sent it off to have it long arm quilted and as soon as its back I can bind and finish. I designed and finished (on Christmas Day) my Christkindlmarkt Quilt (only a sneak peek of these last two since I have not released the patterns).

Sewing Projects
Non-quilting related, I had some project kits I received for Christmas last year and made a pineapple wall hanging and a rope coil bowl. I made some May the 4th Bunting. I got a quilt kit, but the fabric was not very soft. Given we move all the time, we move with our king size mattress, but we don’t move headboard. So I repurposed this fabric for a headboard. For our next post I may hang it differently, but with the solid concrete walls this was the best I could do. I made some Thanksgiving Pillows. My birthday is in late November….and much to my daughter’s chagrin I won’t decorate for Christmas until after my birthday and Thanksgiving. Having some turkey day decorations helps hold her off. I used some brown/pumpkin/turkey fabric and made friendship blocks. I especially like the quilting stitches I used….turkeys! For some holiday gifts, I made ornament shaped pot holders for my daughter’s teachers and family/friends. I also made a 12 days of Christmas table runner and some snappy pouches (I got the pattern and snap supplies in an advent calendar). Finally, I made a new handbag. I’ve loved Puffins since I received a stationary set in kindergarten. Puffins seem to be having a moment in textiles right now and I’m all here for it! I made the small version of the ‘Two Little Totes’ pattern by Annie.

I probably sewed up a few more things I can’t think of at the moment….but I’d say that I had a pretty crafty 2025 and got a lot of mileage out of my sewing machines! I have tons of ideas swirling around for 2026! Happy New Year everyone.
