Become a Pattern Tester

Bula! (Welcome in Fijian). Thank you for your interest in becoming a Blue Sea Star Designs quilt pattern tester. Please read through the following information and if still interested fill out the form below.

Anyone who has made at least one quilt is welcome to sign up.

Quilters of all skill levels are appreciated for their interest in pattern testing. ​This list will only be used to contact you about pattern testing opportunities.

Blue Sea Star Designs will never share or sell your information and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Unfortunately, Blue Sea Star Designs is currently unable to pay pattern testers in a monetary form. By signing up, you fully recognize this is an unpaid position. However, I can offer you a single free pattern of your choice from my current or upcoming digital patterns. I also ask for your mailing address to send you a small token of my appreciation (you do not need to share your address – this is optional).

What does Blue Sea Star Designs expect from a pattern tester?

• Basic quilting skills knowledge
• Ability to read through a pattern and give feedback by the requested time on pattern layout, grammar, fabric requirements, and instructions
• Skills to take well lit photographs of fabric pulls, quilt assembly, and completed quilt top (cell phone photos are fine)
• Turnaround time will typically be around 4 to 6 weeks, please wait to post photos until the final week to promote the pattern launching
• Please do not share images that show cutting instructions, pattern instructions, measurements (like piece or strip sizes) – this is proprietary information and should be kept private to preserve the published patterns

What can you expect from Blue Sea Star Designs?

• A free copy of the completed pattern you are testing
• A free digital copy of a Blue Sea Star Designs pattern of your choice, current or future release
• Exposure for your business by the sharing of your project on the Blue Sea Star Designs website, newsletter, and Instagram
• Clear communication of dates, timelines, fabric choices, etc

Blue Sea Star Designs would not be able to produce quality patterns without you and I greatly appreciate everyone who signs up.
